Waste 2 Taste
250,000 tonnes of the food that goes to waste each year is still edible.

That’s enough for 650 million meals.
Waste 2 Taste is a female-run social enterprise dedicated to preventing food waste and supporting vulnerable members of the community through their cafe, catering service and cooking classes.
Founded by local legends Sandra & Marie and supported by a team of dedicated volunteers, Waste to Taste is Oxford’s first and main commercial establishment using surplus food as their main source of ingredients.
The cafe and the catering service provide an entirely vegetarian and vegan menu, with a “never waste anything” approach. As the majority of their food comes is rescued, the menu changes daily depending on what is available and abundant at the time.
In addition to donating 25% of the overall profit to a local charity supporting homeless and vulnerably housed people, Waste 2 Taste also has a development program. ‘Cooking for Health & Wellbeing’ supports the homeless and vulnerable houses community in Oxford through training and mentoring. Enabling individuals to gain training in cooking, budgeting, nutrition and seasonality as well as the choice to do Level 2 Food & Hygiene training.
During the COVID19 outbreak, the Waste2Taste cafe is closed to the public. They are, however, starting free takeaways to vulnerable people in partnership with ark-t and flo’s . To learn more or find out how you can support them please get in touch via their website.
As well as being consistently delicious, the food is ethical, mouthwatering and comes with the warm smiles and all round!
